Week 2 – The Biggest Problem
Please note that our primary goal with these classes is not to produce content that is designed for online use. Meaning the audio is recorded from a mic that picks up the whole room and has only received a minimum amount of editing afterwards. We hope that what is provided will still be a blessing to you if you choose to listen!

Here are some items that may be helpful for your review as we head into week 3.
KEY IDEAS:
- Threat, manipulation, and guilt will not change the heart of your spouse.
- All marriage problems are heart problems.
- Lasting change in your marriage will always travel through the pathway of the heart.
- You are your biggest marriage problem.
SCRIPTURE PASSAGE
Luke 6:43-45
For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
- Do I tend to blame my spouse and examine their heart more than I own my sin and examine my idolatry and motives?
- What makes me angry in everyday life? What does this anger reveal about my idolatry and worship?
- Do I need to call a Christian brother or sister for marriage help? Why might I be afraid to reach out for help?
