Build It
BUILD IT is for you if you like to work with your hands, use different kinds of tools, and want to create something awesome, this one is for you! We will be putting your skills to the test as we build individual projects together! (Children may be allowed to use power tools and small hand tools under direct adult supervision.)

Cartwheels
Do you practice forward rolls or cartwheels in your yard? Or have you always wanted to learn? Well, CARTWHEELS is for you! Join us each night to learn basic tumbling skills, how to stretch safely, and gain confidence in balancing! We can’t wait to see what you learn! This elective will only be offered for K-2nd grade group.

Game On
Time to get your GAME ON! Plan to sweat and have fun! We will be playing multiple outdoor games and teaming up to compete in relay style races. Tie up those shoe laces and get ready to leave it all on the field, let's go! Please come dressed ready to play.

Master Chef
Learn your way around the kitchen as you prepare tasty treats in MASTER CHEF! We will also discuss kitchen etiquette, how to measure, and even create your own cookbook. This year, our focus will be on delicious snacks and treats, and all ingredients will be gluten-free. All kitchen equipment will be clean, however we cannot guarantee that materials have never been used with gluten products in the past. We value your child’s safety! If you have a specific question about food allergies regarding your child and this elective, please email emilyf@harvestdesmoines.org.

Nimble Needles
Our 1st-2nd grade group will go over the basic straight stitch, back stitch, pattern cut out, and how to sew buttons on. Each student will have the option of either making a bag or a pillow with the stitches we will learn in this class. Our 3-5th grade group will be learning the basics of crochet. They will spend the week learning crochet terminology, basic stitches, and how to read a pattern to be able to create projects of their choosing with confidence.

Tabletop Adventures
Do you love board games? If so, join us for a fun week of decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving. Each day will feature different games paired with relevant passages from the Bible, encouraging participants to apply biblical principles to their gameplay and everyday lives! Come and join us as we roll the dice, move our pieces, and uncover the strategic wisdom of Scripture together!
